Xiaxian Ou

My name is Xiaxian Ou (欧夏娴). I am a PhD student in Biostatistics at Emory University, under the supervision of Razieh Nabi. My research interests lie in causal inference, particularly mediation and path-specific effects, and dynamic treatment regimes. It’s interesting and meaningful to develop new causal inference methodologies and frameworks that can improve health applications and inform clinical practice.

Before coming to Emory, I studied Preventive Medicine at Peking University. My interdisciplinary background has shaped my interest in statistical methods that can address real-world health problems. Beyond academics, I’m also interested in psychology, which helps me better understand human cognition—a fascinating process.
